Job description
Airbus Netherlands B.V. is looking for a Product Assurance Engineer to join our Quality Team based in Leiden, The Netherlands.

As PA engineer, you will be part of a team that supports the product development in projects. You will be managing the quality aspect in the project ranging from quality requirements, tracking obsolescence issues, maintaining the configuration baseline and monitoring the quality of the suppliers in the project. Your will be the quality contact point of the project for the customer and manage the quality gate communication in the delivery of the product, depending on the phase of the project – for example the design review, test review of delivery review.

Alternatively, you may be involved in supporting the series production of our Solar Array or Launcher products. In your role you will be monitoring the quality on the supply base, tracking quality metrics as well as proposing and executing quality improvements for the series production.

Your challenges: •  
• You define the project Product Assurance plan.
• You are the point of contact towards the customers for all quality related aspects.
• Monitor the applicable PA requirements throughout the project execution related to the design, qualification, manufacturing and testing of the end product.  
• You are responsible for establishing and maintaining the configuration baseline, ensuring correct and complete project and product documentation.  
• Ensure that applicable quality requirements are applied at suppliers and subcontractors and perform reviews to validate that manufacturing and testing of the procured items conform to these requirements.
• Supervise product inspections and tests both in-house, at suppliers and customer ensuring the quality standards are met.
• You ensure that any deviation to the requirements is properly documented, agreed and approved; you chair the boards that evaluate deviations and changes and track progress through actions.
• With your team you make End Item Data Packs and make sure all non-conformity reports are closed with the appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
• Accept broad objectives with agreed deadlines, but establish the tasks and their priority for the team.  
• Capable of working independently.
• You involve and coordinate with subject experts solve problems and to prepare project deliverable documentation  
• Assess the PA requirements in proposals
• Ensure application of company processes and best practices and identify the need for improvements to processes, methods, and tools.
• Ensure all tasks and activities are correctly executed within time and allowable budget, in such a way to meet quality level required by our customers.
• You align with colleagues in the projects and with your fellow PA members to improve and check the baseline for the PA quality work.
• You report to the Head of Quality 

Your boarding pass: 
• Bachelor Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace or optionally Software)
• Minimum from 3 to 5 years of experience in the Quality domain preferably accumulated in the space sector.
• Very process minded • Capable of working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment both independently and collectively.
 Preferably having experience in a series production environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, & PowerPoint) and Google Suite (GMail, Docs, Sheets, Slides) required.
• Team player demonstrating a positive & collaborative attitude.
• Good interpersonal skills, flexibility and adaptability.
• Must be able to communication effectively in English (verbal and written)
• Conversational in Dutch is a plus, but not required.
